Become A Substitute Tutor
Filling in when regular tutors are unavailable, Substitute Tutors volunteer as needed—typically once a week for one hour from October through May. Reading Tutors work one-on-one with an assigned student throughout the school year. All volunteers working with youth are required to complete tutor training and undergo an annual background check.

Other Volunteer Opportunities
Beyond direct tutoring, FLI volunteers contribute their time and talents in many ways — from information technology and fundraising to event planning, grant writing, and public relations.
